Emergency and urgent care

You do not have to make the next decision alone.

When your pet is sick, injured, struggling to breathe, unable to stand, experiencing severe pain, or simply not acting right, call for guidance.

During business hours

We are here to help.

Call (864) 268-0860

During normal business hours, our team is always available to at least have a conversation regarding emergency or urgent veterinary concerns. In many situations, we may be able to evaluate and treat your pet here in our hospital.

There are also times when more advanced diagnostics, hospitalization, surgery, or around-the-clock monitoring may be in your pet's best interest. If we believe your pet may benefit from specialty or emergency referral care, we will discuss those options openly and honestly with you.

Sometimes advocating means providing care in our hospital, and sometimes it means helping direct you to a facility better equipped for a specific emergency situation. Either way, you are not facing those decisions alone.

Warning signs

Seek emergency care immediately if your pet is experiencing:

  • Difficulty breathing
  • Collapse or inability to stand
  • Severe vomiting or diarrhea
  • Active seizures
  • Trauma or being hit by a vehicle
  • Significant bleeding
  • Suspected toxin ingestion
  • Difficulty urinating
  • Severe pain
  • Sudden weakness or paralysis
  • Bloat or a swollen abdomen
  • Heatstroke
  • Unresponsiveness

If you are unsure whether your pet's condition is an emergency, call. We would rather have a conversation and help guide you than have you worry alone at home.
