At Advocate Animal Health, we believe that great veterinary care is built by a great team working together with a shared heart for pets and their families. One of the things we are most proud of is the incredible team that surrounds our doctors and supports our clients each and every day.

Collectively, our staff brings close to 200 years of veterinary and professional experience to our practice. Our team is made up of individuals from many different walks of life and backgrounds, each bringing unique talents, perspectives, and strengths that help shape the culture and fabric of our office.

Every member of our staff plays an important role in helping pets and their people feel welcomed, heard, and cared for. Whether assisting during surgery, helping clients navigate difficult decisions, comforting nervous pets, answering phones, or simply offering a kind word, our team works together with a shared mission of compassion and advocacy.

Dr. Hollifield and I are deeply thankful to be surrounded by such excellent support as we seek to care for the greater Greenville community of pets and their people. We know that veterinary medicine is a team effort, and we are grateful every day for the people who help make our vision possible.

We look forward to getting to know you, your family, and your pets - and to showing you what it means to be part of the Advocate Animal Health family.

Meet Dr. Daniel Moore

Relationships shape the mission.

My name is Daniel Moore, D.V.M., and I have been blessed to work in the veterinary industry for more than 35 years. My journey began when I was 15 years old working as a kennel boy, and over the years I have had the opportunity to wear many different hats within veterinary medicine. Those experiences have shaped not only my career, but also my philosophy about caring for pets and the people who love them.

I feel truly blessed to do what I love every day, and even more blessed to do it alongside my family. My wonderful wife and I have been married for almost 30 years, and together we have four children and three amazing grandchildren.

Our oldest son helps manage the practice while also working weekends as a labor and delivery nurse. Our other son is completing his veterinary degree at the University of Georgia, and his mother-in-law serves as our hospital manager. We are also incredibly thankful for our two wonderful daughters.

Our family wouldn’t be complete without our beloved fur family comprised by Cinder, a former stray dog who is convinced he’s a honey badger, and Richard the Ruthless, a former stray cat who found his way into our lives through the hospital—and who shows no mercy to anything that moves in our yard!

I am deeply thankful for the many years, friendships, and relationships I have shared with pets and their people throughout the Upstate community. Those relationships are what continue to inspire me and shape the mission of Advocate Animal Health every single day.

What is your name, what is your pet's name, and how can we Advocate for you?

The people behind the care

Every member of our team has a story worth sharing.

Dr. Kim Hollifield

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine

Dr. Kim Hollifield

I’m Dr. Kim Hollifield, a veterinarian at Advocate Animal Health. I’ve worked in veterinary medicine for 27 years, and my career actually started as kennel help. That experience gave me the opportunity to see many different sides of veterinary medicine, and my passion for helping animals has only grown over the years. I especially enjoy surgery and dentistry because both allow me to make a tangible difference in an animal’s quality of life. I try to approach every pet and family as individuals. I want to understand what is medically best for the animal while also considering the family and what is realistic for them. My goal is to help people make informed decisions without judgment and work together to provide the best care possible. There’s something incredibly rewarding about seeing a patient come in sick or hurting, figuring out what is wrong, treating the problem, and watching them begin to feel better. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our six children and working on our mini-farm producing pasture raised chicken eggs. We have quite a collection of both large and small animals, including but not limited to Brooklyn (16 year old cat), Molly (milk goat), Harley (26 year old African Gray parrot), Shamrock (llama), Petunia “Tuna” (American Guinea hog) and an assortment of heritage breed chickens and other birds. Some neat facts about me are - I enjoy traveling and have had the opportunity for many adventures. I have been baptized in the Jordan River in Israel, went scuba diving with sea turtles in Hawaii and hiked Machu Picchu to name a few. For me, the Advocate name really says it all. Being an advocate means looking at the whole picture—both the animal and the people who love them. I want my clients to know that I’m on their side and that we’re working together to make the best decisions we can for their pets.

Tonya Ashley

Licensed Veterinary Technician

Tonya Ashley

I’m Tonya Ashley, a Licensed Veterinary Technician and Hospital Manager at Advocate Animal Health. I’ve worked in veterinary medicine for 28 years, and caring for animals has truly been a lifelong passion of mine. Throughout my career, I’ve worked in nearly every aspect of patient care, including surgical assistance, anesthesia monitoring, dental procedures, radiography, emergency and critical care, laboratory diagnostics, and client education. Surgery has always been one of my greatest professional interests. I especially enjoy helping pet owners understand what to expect before, during, and after a procedure. Veterinary medicine can sometimes feel overwhelming, so I believe taking the time to explain things clearly and compassionately can make a tremendous difference. My approach is to treat every patient with skill, compassion, and respect while also supporting the people who love them. Outside of work, I enjoy camping, hiking, spending time with my family, and caring for our own collection of animals. My husband and I have been married for 27 years, and we have a daughter pursuing a PhD in chemistry at UGA and a son studying mechanical engineering at Clemson. Our animal family includes Roodie, Phoebe, and Hazy; our dogs Fergie and Massey; and even one rooster and six hens. And one thing clients may not expect about me—I like Usher! To me, being an advocate means making sure pet owners feel heard, understand their options, and know they have someone beside them as they make decisions for their pets. The most rewarding part of veterinary medicine is building lifelong relationships with pets and their families and knowing I’ve helped make their lives a little better.

Brittany Carrizales

Veterinary Assistant

Brittany Carrizales

I’m Brittany Carrizales, a Veterinary Assistant and Pet Care Specialist at Advocate Animal Health. I’ve worked in veterinary medicine for five years, and I chose this career because I wanted the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of animals. One of my favorite parts of the job is seeing a pet recover from an illness and watching them start feeling like themselves again. I’m especially interested in radiology and diagnostic imaging and enjoy learning how these tools can help us better understand what is happening with our patients. I also believe education and communication are a huge part of providing great veterinary care. I try to give clients as much useful information as possible so they can make the best decisions for their pets and their lifestyle. I wish every pet owner knew that animals don’t always cry or whimper when they are in pain—changes in behavior, appetite, mobility, or routine can be important signs that something is wrong. Outside of work, I love hiking with my dogs, trail riding with my horses, barrel racing, and riding motorcycles. My husband and I have quite the animal family with two horses, six dogs, and 28 cats. A few of them include Yeti, my Husky and German Shepherd mix who is always ready for an adventure; Bella, my Maltese and Yorkie mix who loves hiking; and Salem, my Domestic Longhair. To me, being an advocate means giving a voice to the voiceless. It means speaking up for what is best for an animal because they can’t speak for themselves, while also supporting and educating their family along the way.

Dani Boutwell

Veterinary Assistant

Dani Boutwell

I’m Dani Boutwell, a Veterinary Assistant at Advocate Animal Health. I’ve worked in veterinary medicine for around seven years, providing general patient and client care while also helping maintain our in-house laboratory equipment. My love for animals started early. As a kid, I watched a lot of animal shows and dreamed of becoming a veterinarian, and that passion eventually led me into veterinary medicine. One of my favorite parts of my job is seeing familiar patients and clients throughout the years. It’s incredibly rewarding to build those relationships and watch pets grow and change over time. I have a particular interest in phlebotomy and feline healthcare, and my approach to patient care is centered around understanding, kindness, and education. I want clients to feel heard and supported while making sure they have the information they need to make the best decisions for their pets. Outside of work, I enjoy playing Dungeons & Dragons and video games, watching anime, sewing, working on DIY projects, and putting together fun outfits. I’m also a huge fan of punk fashion and history. At home, I have Cookie, my 14-year-old one-eyed calico who has been with me since she was a kitten. She has grown into a very needy, opinionated, and fussy old lady, but I wouldn’t trade her for the world. To me, being an advocate means getting to know people and their pets, understanding their needs and concerns, and doing everything we can to help them receive the care they deserve. The most rewarding part of veterinary medicine is being there for animals and their people throughout all the stages of their lives.

Regina Harrison

Veterinary Assistant

Regina Harrison

I’m Regina, and I’ve worked in veterinary medicine for 26 years. As a Patient Care Specialist and Veterinary Technician, I assist our veterinarians with wellness exams, administer vaccinations, help with surgery, and educate clients about preventative medicine. I was inspired to enter veterinary medicine by watching my family’s love for animals and recognizing how much animals need someone willing to advocate for them. Surgery is one of my special professional interests, and I’m also very passionate about preventative care. One thing I wish every pet owner understood is just how important nutrition is to their pet’s overall health. My approach to caring for pets and supporting their families is to always be kind, patient, understanding, and honest. I believe good veterinary care starts with listening to the needs of the patient and working closely with the owner. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time at my son’s baseball games and taekwondo tournaments and traveling with my family. I even practice taekwondo along with them. I have two dogs: Forrest, a Great Dane who truly is a gentle giant, and Kai, a shy German Shepherd who loves playing Frisbee. If I could spend a day with any animal, I would choose a manatee because their personalities remind me of puppies. The most rewarding part of veterinary medicine for me is building relationships with clients and their pets. My favorite part of working at Advocate Animal Health is the family atmosphere and the opportunity to work closely with owners to help their pets live healthier lives.

Danielle Mosley

Veterinary Assistant

Danielle Mosley

I'm Danielle Mosley, a Veterinary Assistant who has had the privilege of working in the veterinary field since 1994. I started as a kennel technician and have grown throughout the years, developing a special passion for patient care, emergency medicine, and client relations. My love for animals began long before my career—as a child, I was always bringing home lizards, caterpillars, frogs, and just about any creature I could find! To me, veterinary medicine is more than a job; it's a way to serve my community by caring for both animals and the people who love them. Animals enrich our lives, and when I care for them, I feel like I'm helping my neighbors enjoy more happy, healthy years together. I've been married since 2010 and am incredibly proud of my husband, a retired Navy man. Together, we have three amazing kids and a wonderful collection of pets: our dogs, Rooster and Monster; our cats, Link and Braille; and our granddog, Artemis. As a family, we love camping, hiking, and cheering on our kids as they play baseball and swim with the Wellington Green Gators. One of my favorite things about working at Advocate is that this truly is my community. We live in Taylors, our kids go to school here, and we worship here. Being able to serve the people and pets in the community I call home makes my work especially meaningful. And if I could spend an entire day with any animal? Without a doubt, it would be elephants!

Pam Wolf

Client Care Representative

Pam Wolf

I’m Pam Wolf, a Client Care Representative at Advocate Animal Health. I’m often one of the first people our clients connect with, whether I’m answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, or helping check patients in and out. Most importantly, I want every client and pet to feel welcomed from the moment they walk through the door. I’ve worked in veterinary medicine for five and a half years, and I’ve truly loved being able to combine my love for animals with helping their families. One of my biggest interests is client communication and education. I enjoy giving pet parents the information they need in a positive and reassuring way so they can feel confident about caring for their pets. My approach is simple: always be kind and put the pet’s needs first. I believe compassion and good communication can make a huge difference for both pets and their families. Outside of work, I love spending time with my family, traveling, and enjoying the sunshine. My family includes my son, Skyler, and my four-year-old Morkie, Kino. Kino is the sweetest little dog and brings so much happiness into my life. I’m also a HUGE Atlanta Braves fan, so if there’s a game on, there’s a pretty good chance I’m watching it or keeping up with the score. To me, being an advocate means making sure clients leave our office with the best information and guidance I can give them. I want every pet parent to feel confident that they know how to keep their pet healthy, happy, and an important part of their family for many years to come.

Bobbie Jones

Client Care Representative

Bobbie Jones

I’m Bobbie Jones, a Client Care Representative at Advocate Animal Health. I help check clients and their pets in and out and make sure they have a positive experience while they’re here. I’ve worked in veterinary medicine for three years, and one of my favorite parts of my role is meeting our clients and their pets, getting to know them, and building relationships with them over time. Animals have always held a special place in my heart. I’ve always loved caring for them and wanted to be part of a profession where I could help animals and the people who love them. I have a strong interest in protecting animals from harm, neglect, and abuse, and I also enjoy educating pet owners about proper care, nutrition, and overall well-being. I believe pets deserve proper shelter, exercise, good nutrition, lots of love, and plenty of attention. Outside of work, I enjoy CrossFit, hiking with my dogs, mountain biking, and playing cornhole—and I’m very competitive! My husband and I have four precious fur babies: Buddy, Pumpkin, Cody, and Honey Bee. They all have their own personalities, including Honey Bee, our lovable Tosa who enjoys watching television. To me, being an advocate means getting involved in the community, supporting local animal rescue groups, donating food and blankets to shelters, and volunteering whenever I can. It’s about doing whatever I can to help animals and the people who care for them.

Danyon Moore

Practice Management

Danyon Moore

I’m Danyon Moore, the Practice Manager at Advocate Animal Health. I’ve worked in veterinary medicine for 14 years, and my biggest inspiration was my dad, Dr. Moore. I grew up watching his passion for caring for animals, and I knew I wanted to be part of that world. One of the things I enjoy most about my role is building relationships with families and helping provide the best possible care for their pets. My approach is to meet people where they are, listen to their circumstances, and work with them to create a plan that makes sense for both their pet and their family. Every family and every pet is different, so I believe in listening first, presenting the available options clearly, and helping people choose the approach that works best for them. In addition to my work in veterinary medicine, I’m a registered nurse specializing in obstetrics and also work in Labor and Delivery at Spartanburg Regional. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my wife and our four children, fishing, and smoking meat. I’m also a Georgia boy through and through and a big fan of the Dawgs, Braves, Falcons, and Hawks. To me, being an advocate means making sure families understand all of their options and feel empowered to make the best decision for their pet and their family. My favorite part of working at Advocate is getting to know our clients—and, of course, getting to hang out with my dad every day. The most rewarding part of veterinary medicine is seeing sick pets regain their health and go on to live long, happy lives.

Heather Moore

Human Resources

Heather Moore

For me, Advocate Animal Health is truly about family—both the family I work alongside every day and the families who trust us with the care of their pets. I have worked in veterinary medicine for eight years, and what initially drew me to the field was the opportunity to work beside my husband, Dr. Moore, in our family-owned practice. Over the years, however, my role has grown into something I value for its own reasons. Working in Human Resources gives me the opportunity to interact with our staff and clients, build relationships, and help create an environment where people feel supported and appreciated. One of the things I enjoy most about veterinary medicine is the personal connection we develop with our clients. When someone is worried about a pet, we understand that they aren't simply worried about an animal. They're worried about a member of their family. I want our clients to know how genuinely we care about what they and their furry family members are going through. My approach is simple: show compassion, offer support, and treat people and their pets with kindness and love. To me, being an advocate for pets and their people means being there for both sides of that relationship. It means listening, understanding what a family needs, and doing everything we can to make their experience with us a positive one. The relationships we build with our clients and their pets are easily one of my favorite parts of working at Advocate Animal Health. Family has always been an important part of my life. Dr. Moore and I have been together for 32 years, and today we have four children - Danyon, Zane, Grace, and Selah and four grandchildren. When I'm not at the practice, I love spending time with my family, traveling, and biking. Our family also includes a couple of four-legged personalities. Cinder is our sweet and spunky, formerly homeless, Rat Terrier, and Ricky is our too cool Domestic Shorthair stray cat from Taylors who definitely has a personality all his own. If I could spend a day with any animal in the world, I'd choose to go on an African safari to see lions in their natural habitat. After eight years in veterinary medicine, I find the most rewarding part is knowing that the relationships we build with people allow us to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the pets they love. That's what makes this profession, and being part of Advocate Animal Health, so special to me.
